Join theatre artist Megan Flod Johnson and documentary filmmaker Alicia Rice for a night of play and discussion, as we explore provocations and stories to ignite imagination in participatory spaces. Through the screening of the short documentary Where Kids Meet a Creature and hands-on art making, fort-building and story play we'll explore how these questions and the open-ended play/making they prompt sets the stage for kids to ask big questions, reflect on their needs and the needs of others and become engaged community members.
Discuss the importance of imagination and risk-taking.
Brainstorm ways to bring creative experiences into the lives of adults and young people alike.
Learn how to express ideas using teaching tools from theatre, creative drama and movement.
But, play is not just for kids! This film screening and interactive workshop is for parents, educators, young people, artists, youth workers or anyone looking to reconnect with their playful side.
This is an all ages, family friendly, drop in & FREE event!
